Our Craft Show was a Success!

For those of you out there that think a craft show is not work, and is just play time, LET ME TELL YOU...... I have been so exhausted, but it has been worth every minute. We got the Key to the building @ 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, went in and taped off spaces, prepped the signs (which will be done ahead next time). Thursday We set up our own booths and got the Christmas in July Section started.

A Very Productive Day

Though I am still coughing I am feeling pretty good, I got several infant dresses sewn in this cute Asian Doll Print, I LOOOVE this fabric! I also have this with a pink background, and a mint green background is on order, I ordered it in mid march and it won't be in until mid August. I also have diapers covers, burp cloths and diaper bags in this print for cute baby shower sets.

I got the painting bug today and got a bunch of signs done. Las Vegas Usually has a dry heat, but it was humid out today, I was cutting and sanding wood as fast as possible so I could get back inside. Here are a couple of the signs I got done today. I Have a vinyl cutter,but I love to hand paint signs. It never fails that I have to spell at least one sign wrong, Usually my friend Crystal catches it ( when I put it out to sell). Last year she caught "Christmas Wises" every other sign said Christmas Wishes,but that ONE!! I swear I have a stack of those signs, one day *wink* I will sand them all down and redo them.

I'd better go and finish the last of my signs, this is the last day I have to work on my own projects before the show this weekend, "wis" me luck :)

The Crazy Life Of A Sin City Craft Addict

Is it wrong, that every time we leave the house my child asks " Mommy are we going to a craft show, Jo Anns, Michaels, Home dept"?

Is it wrong, that when Sabrina colors a picture and I ask if it's for me she says "No I'm going to sell it at the craft show"? (she is quite the artist)


Is it wrong, that I have my child tricked into thinking a banana Split is cottage cheese mixed with Yogurt? ( hey she likes it).

I know that is totally wrong that my three year old tells me " OK guys, I have no job, No Career, what are we doing here"? Where in the heck does she get that?

Cooking Never Looked So Stylish

Me and my posse (my mom & Sabrina) have been hard at work all day, I finally feel like I am getting somewhere. I got some more toddler caps done, they seemed to be a hit at my last show, I keep saying I am going to get them on my website or my ETSY shop. I really need to crack the code to selling online there is so much work involved and it seems like I just get lost in Internet land. oh well I am working on it. My ultimate love is craft shows anyway ( if I could just get rid of set up and tear down) I love the people, the smells AHHHHHHHH... a craft show.

OK... I don't know why I am feeling the need to talk about this..... Have you ever starting thinking of an old movie and can't get it off you mind? For the last few days I have been singing songs from the Disney movie PETE'S DRAGON! what the heck is that all about?? SO THEN.. as I am singing those songs, I start singing songs from Mary Poppins?? I need to go to itunes and see if there are any sound tracks.

Got My MOJO back!

WOW! it has been a crazy two weeks! since my last post I am FINALLY feeling better from having Bronchitis, yes bronchitis. I was feeling like I was on deaths door (death by coughing). I went to the emergency room,and waited there for 12 hours! I'm not 100%, but I'm feeling GOOD!

So now I am scrambling like a mad woman to get stuff ready for our craft show next week. I am hosting a family craft sweat shop at my house to get some things done. My mom came over I had her pricing, packaging, cutting out patterns etc. My mom ROCKS. I even got free labor out of the little one, she is great at putting priced items in the box.

When I was sick and lying on the couch I still found a way to spend money :) I downloaded some new photo overlays, I want to use them on my website. I did a couple of photos so you could see my new toy.
I Love this scroll overlay, I will make it white on my website, the idea I have is that with the white background of my site, it will look like the background is bleeding into the photo (My Baby hard at work, Like mother like daughter).

This worn photo overlay is the best, I don't know what I am going to do with it, but I will figure something out. these are some pictures of some new stacking blocks I am doing this year. I love making stacking blocks, and try to change my technique from year to year.

I have been cranking out aprons today, I made eight kitchen dress aprons, in different fabrics, and I also made six aprons from my new line, they are made from button down shirts (photo's to come later).

for the next week I will be staying up late to get some more done for the show, I will post some pictures.

UP ALL NIGHT, SLEEP ALL DAY

First of all, having that as my title probably really dates me, but that is my life lately, and I am learning to embrace it. it is more like up all night small naps during the day,but it is going to have to work. With all of this GUNK, in my chest I am just not able to lay down at night without coughing, so I am up until about 4am.... Sabrina is up about 5-5:30ish which is usually great,because I am an early morning person. so lately I have to get up make her breakfast, and by make breakfast,I mean throw some cereal in a bowl (poor kid), then lay on the couch for an hour or so. the other day I got this speech about how her grandma makes her gooood brekfacis (breakfasts) eggs, sausage, oatmeal, crackers, cake .....blah blah blah, it did give me a laugh, what really made me laugh,was the fact that I never got these good breakfasts when I was little! all I remember was cereal, and Sunday was pancake day :)

So I was a busy bee today I actually left the house and went to the store.I took some phone calls for our crafter's market, we are almost sold out! yeah! I think we have about three spaces left. I worked on the name badges for vendors to wear during the show, I finally got some long over due Crafter's Guild e-mails sent out. Finally I got some CRAFT Y things finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got some tile magnets done for the show, I even got them packaged, since "I will do it tomorrow " CAN'T be in my vocabulary for the next few weeks.




I will get back to work, since the early a.m. is now my busy time.

I'm Back...

I wish I could say better than ever, I am still sick! I am feeling better,but my my nights are filled with uncontrollable coughing and zero sleep. I am taking antibiotics now and I hope that does the trick. this is just the worst time ever for me to be sick, trying to get ready for the craft show that Crystal and I are promoting. I am so glad she is able to pick up some of my slack. I can't believe how much I take good health for granted!

I have slowly got my creative wheels turning and managed to get this apron done today, I love this fabric I found, and only had enough for ONE! I will be selling this at the crafter's market in a couple of weeks.



I am so excited about this show! one of our friends Mary Beth has been doing the foot work of getting Press Releases sent out for us, and I started getting some response calls this morning (my voice is half gone).

lord willing I am going to get a lot done in the next few days so I will post some pics.

Where oh where did my mojo go?

This cold has has drained my creative juices! I have tried to work on projects,but all I feel like doing is lying on the couch with tissue shoved in my nostrils. On Wednesday I took it easy thinking I would feel better on Thursday, on Thursday I told my self I HAVE to feel better on Friday, and today was worse than ever, I ran a fever most of the day. You know I'm sick when I only checked my e-mail ONE time during the day! Sabrina was scared of the fireworks (so I got out of that) and now I am slathered in Vick's vapo rub, with a scarf around my neck, a hat on and tissue in my nose (you should be happy you don't have to witness this). I am HOPING and PRAYING that I feel better tomorrow, I have so many things I want to finish before our Show & Tell Crafter's Market at the end of the month.
If I find my Mojo tomorrow I will post some pictures of what I am working on.

The Dreaded Summer Cold

I had all of my plans set for the week, I was going to finish up some projects and start on more, but this afternoon I was slapped silly with a cold! It all started with a scratch in my throat, and a headache and now... my throat is on fire, my eye lids are heavy and I just feel yucky.So why the heck is she one the computer,you ask yourself? Because I'm a junkie! I swear I would crawl from my death bed to check my e-mail! This is the Lords way of slowing me down just a bit.

My friend Marnie came over today and brought her two month old "baby Jackson" This was in the scratchy throat phase and I didn't know I had a cold ( I am feeling guilty now). That kid has gotten soooo big, he is adorable, I think Sabrina fell in love for the first time,not so sure the feeling was mutual :) baby Jackson is ALL I heard for the rest of the day.



hopefully I am able to get some things done tomorrow, I might try to get some done tonight, I just have a "little" headache. I know, I know I never learn, I don't know how to relax, until I am feeling like death.
