Trick or Treat

Sabrina has been waiting for this day since we bought her costume last month. She still has a runny nose but, what kind on mother would I bee if I did not let her go out and get some Halloween LOOT!

She got dressed up and we hit the streets, by the time we got done her bag was so heavy I had to carry it. When we got home we preceeded to our yearly tradition of dumping all of her candy on the bed and she got to pick the one she was going to eat, as she went though the candy (piece by piece) I had time to reminisce the good ol' days when my brother and I would sit on the bed after trick or treating and trade candy(chocolate was always worth the most).He would wait for me to eat all of my candy after a couple of weeks, and then he would sell his to me for $.10 each ( hmmm.. we'll just say he was skinny then and he is skinny now).

It was so fun to see Sabrina skipping from house to house, every time she would get more candy she would say "we've go to fill this bag up mommy". We got pretty close!

That's IT!!! Home School for Sabrina

Ok, just joking, but my baby has been in school for two days, and she is already sick!! she ran a fever on and off last night and all day today. I hate to say it but illness is the only thing that keeps this kid quiet. It is sooo sad. I'd better go and try to get some more juice in her.

My baby is offically a BIG GIRL

On Monday Sabrina went to her first day of school. I'm not sure if I am just "THAT MOM" but I was not impressed first we went to the wrong building, so she was not in to building I thought, The other building was across the parking lot, it was another program. At first I was concerned because it is in the recreation center ans little security at the door ( the other place had to buzz you back before you got to the classrooms). We get to the classroom and the teacher does not even acknowledge us so...


I say " hi, this is Sabrina, it is her first day today"


I get from her " we don't open until 8:00a.m." ( it was 7:50)


I say "oh OK well since it was her first day I just wanted to get here a few minutes early to see if there was anything I needed to know"



She says " yes, we ask that the kids don't have back packs, this is not school"


I say "this is just some extra cloths just in case....you don't allow extra cloths? there are no toys in here"


she says " OK if you keep it on this shelf.... you are welcome to go out and look around the building"


we went out of the room, a few minutes later, some other kids came, we stood outside the door and waited, they do not allow you in the room a second early. As soon as I left I walked over to the other program and got her on the waiting list.





I am going to see how this week goes, Sabrina had a BLAST! but I am just not sure.


oh the stress of an over protective parent:) but, I can't help it she is the love of my life.

we did still celebrate at grandmas house after the first day.

Back From Village Venture Craft Faire

I'm Baaaaack! I had plans to post while I was gone, but I brought a different lap top and for the life of me could not figure out how to get on the Internet.

So the show was pretty good, not what I wanted it to be ( you know how greedy we get sometimes),but it was a good show. I think overall the show is a FABULOUS show, lots of traffic ( but not where we were located). We thought we had an awesome spot because we were at the end of a row, well........

I got out to look around about 10:00 and walked a block to the east and it was like I was in a whole new show, wall to wall people for blocks!

Our booth was located at the end of a row and a police bus was on the other side of us, on the side the booths ended shorter than ours (about 3). so after walking the entire show they would look down there and just turn around.

It was our first time in the show, you have to work yourself to prime locations :) I am excited to try for a space next year!! I made some great business contacts, I met a wonderful photographer Danielle Simone who has listed little ol' me as one of her recommend places to shop on her site, I will be sending her some of my new baby items to use in some photos. Check out her site her personality is as beautiful as her work :)

OMG!! I almost forgot!!!!! the best part of the entire trip, I went to IKEA for the first time ever! Who said that Disneyland was the happiest place on earth, OBVIOUSLY they have not been to IKEA!! I am in love, We have to go back so we can spend the day there, it was sooo much fun, it just inspires such creativity.

Shhhhh! I'm getting a check-up!

SOOOO... On Saturday when I went to vote I saw a brand new early childhood development center. On Monday I called promptly at 9 a.m. and was told there was two spaces left, I swear to you that I have never got myself and Sabrina ready so fast, no shower,no teeth brushed, hair barely combed and we were off to get an application. We were told that all she needs to do is get a physical, and I had to attend parent orientation ( 10/21/08 @ 9:30) then she can go to SCHOOL the next day.

As soon as I got home I called and scheduled the physical (it was my lucky day). I got an appointment for this morning 10/21/08 @ 8:15 a.m. We get to the physical and Sabrina is in perfect health, the doctor was even shocked at how tall she is, she is 44 1/2" tall and weighs 45 pounds ( I would never have guessed she is sooo skinny)!!!! the kid is not even 4 yet!!!

So we go in the little room, and wait.....Sabrina was so excited?? The doctor comes in and is asking questions, how does Sabrina eat, what food she likes.. I start to answer , and my child says "SHHHH I'm getting a check-UP"!! so I said " oh ok, excuse me". I swear If I tried to answer any question, she would remind me it was HER check-up. She looked a little scared so I said "you are being such a BIG girl" Sabrina says "I know MOMMY shhh"!
I was informed by the doctor that she needed a chicken pox vaccine and a Flu shot. UH OH (I'm thinking) as we are waiting for the nurse I am trying to prepare her that she is getting two shots, and she was still smiling (totally did not understand). The nurse comes in and puts her on my lap
and gives her the first shot... no tears at all she just said ouch that hurt! but the next shot... she screams "mommy that lady keeps pinching me, shes not nice"!

After all of this, I raced back home where my mom was waiting to watch Sabrina for me. I told Sabrina to tuck and roll and shoved her out of the car :) and headed to the parent orientation.

On Monday my baby will start her first day of preschool!!! She is going to love it,but I am soo nervous, I hate to leave her... but then I keep thinking M-F 8a.m.- 11a.m. I am free to get work done uninterrupted!!!! I don't know if I should smile or cry.

WHY! WHY! WHY!

Well.....I can say the weekend started off good :) Thursday, I got all my special orders packaged for my friend Crystal to take to a craft show in Reno, My customers were going to pick them up. Saturday, bright and early, I took Sabrina with me to BaROCK my early vote *wink* for my candidate of choice. we came home and I got a bunch of work done for my next craft show Village Venture in Claremont California. As I was working the phone rang.... it was one of the customers that I sent two signs up to Reno, she informed, me that on one of the signs the word enlarged was spelled WRONG!!!!! I swear I read both of these signs a million times, and even had the NERVE to take photos of the signs and still did not notice!!!!!! she was so nice, she even apologized to me for ruining my Saturday!! she even offered to pay for me to ship the next one, of course I would not have her do that, it was totally my fault.

This morning I got up and cut a bunch of Vinyl to put on plates for the craft show ( I get everything set up,and my mom helps by weeding Vinyl for me).well.. I pick up the bag to take it to my moms car.... and DROPPED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as I scream NOOOOOO!!!! Sabrina starts crying! I'm a mixture of mad and sad, and Sabrina is crying "Mommy why did you throw those plates"? which I have to admit was making me more mad than sad! and Then.... Sabrina says "Mommy, I don't think you should do that anymore" and that just cracked me up.I swear just when I think I am getting ahead I take two steps back. oh well back to the drawing board.

FINALLY!!

I have finally finished a buch of frames and canvas signs, I have also finished some more decorative plates. here are a few pictures> I am going to get some things on my website tonight, I know....I know I keep saying that but, I really am going to do it this time. thank you to all of you that have called or e-mailed me to place your orders I appreciate you Patience with my semi one woman show :)

I am really pleased with the way my canvas frames and signs have turned out, and to all of you that tell me my hand writing is soooo. perfect, and wonder if I trace them first... the answer is no...


of the 40 signs and frames that I have done in the past few days this is my only "FLUB" so I am getting better, and I am sure that something is spelled wrong on one of them and I have not caught it yet.

I was informed that I took too long to post on my blog. So I wanted to get some photos up. as I was going through my photos and relized the were AWFUL!!!!! sooo... here are two up close photos.My creative wheels have been turning and I have a lot of new ideas for my frames. I will post some photos in the next couple of days.

First Day of Art in the Park

I wanted to do a quick post because I know some of my "blog stalkers" :) are going nuts not having a post in a couple of days. After last week I have been working day and night trying to replenish my stock ( I know wah,wah poor me I'm selling :). This week will be more of the same , I am sooo excited I did well the first day of art in the park. I was very worried because it was raining when I got there this morning,but the weather worked in our favor.

I stayed up until 2a.m. yesterday finishing things up for the show,and got up at 4a.m., so today I have a few (7) frames to get painted for tomorrow. I promised myself I would be in bed by 10p.m. which really means 11:30.

I swear I will post a show wrap up by Tuesday with some photos. Thank you all so much for your support, I'm a crafty girl with a dream:)
